Chores, in the language your kids speak
You say what needs doing, the same way you always have. Your kid sees a quest, a reward and the next level — and you stop being the one asking for the tenth time.
Sound familiar?
It's 7:40 in the morning. You've asked twice, and you can hear your own voice starting to change.

Make your bed, please.
Did you make your bed?

Your kids aren't lazy. They just speak a different language.
Kids live in the now. Grown-ups live for later.
It isn't laziness. You and your kid just disagree about when the good part shows up.

We do the boring thing today for a better tomorrow: tidy up and home feels good, work hard and there's money to live on. Kids don't look that far ahead — not because they're lazy, but because what matters to them is what happens right now.
That's exactly how games work: do something, and you instantly see progress, a level, a reward. MyFamily Quest takes the good that comes “later” and lets your kid feel it now. And the habit of doing what needs doing, even when they don't feel like it, stays with them for life.
Their smartphone can be your helper, not your rival
We're used to seeing the smartphone as the rival: it takes our kids' time and attention, and we keep taking it away or setting passcodes. MyFamily Quest turns that around. The same smartphone your kid already spends time on reminds them about the chore, shows how close the next level is, and celebrates with them when it's done. The energy that used to disappear into an endless feed goes into a tidier home and the family's shared chores — and you no longer have to fight the screen. It's on your side now.
Four steps
Two things from you: write the chore, approve the photo. The app does the rest.
1

You write the chore
in your own words, the way you'd write it on the fridge: “take out the trash”, “pack your bag”
2

Your kid sees a quest
with a reward, a level and a deadline
3

Done — photo sent
straight from their phone

Your own first, then family, then extra
Not every chore is the same, and kids know it better than anyone. So there are three kinds.

LEVEL 1
★☆☆
Your own stuff
Teeth, bed, backpack. No coins for these — XP only, because that's what you do for yourself. And until they're done, level 2 stays closed.
✨ XP
LEVEL 2
★★☆
Family chores
Dishes, the dog, Saturday cleanup — the ones where everybody pitches in and you're helping out the rest of the family. These pay coins, your family's own currency.

LEVEL 3
★★★
Big jobs
The kind you'd normally pay someone to come and do. Big reward, and it goes to whoever is already keeping up with their own and the family's.
🏆 a big reward
Kids can't skip the basics to chase rewards, and you never pay anyone to brush their teeth.
We built it for our own family
We have five kids, a dog and two cats, and there's always more to do than hands to do it. We were tired of asking everyone ten times. So we built MyFamily Quest.

The real us

Us in MyFamily Quest
We work in tech, and when we couldn't find an app that fit our family, we built one. Our own family already lives in it, and we're opening it to the first families very soon. We don't want to build it just for us — every family runs on its own rhythm — so we're inviting families to come along from the very start and tell us what works at their place and what doesn't.
Faith and family matter to us. We believe kids grow through responsibility, helping at home and honoring their parents — and that they learn it better through encouragement than through bribes or threats.
Tired of asking ten times?
What we want is an evening where the dishes get done by whoever's turn it is, and you get to sit down with a book. We're opening MyFamily Quest to the first families very soon. Leave your details and your family will be one of them: you'll use it at home, and your advice will help make it even better. It's free, and there's no commitment.
Questions parents ask
Is it really free?
Really. Joining costs nothing and commits you to nothing — it just tells us you're interested. When we open it to the first families, we'll write to you.
What ages is it for?
Our own kids are six to seventeen, and all of them use it. Younger kids start with simple chores; older ones go for big jobs with bigger rewards.
Isn't this just bribing kids? Won't they only do things for money?
We asked ourselves the same thing — that's why the levels work the way they do. The things you do for yourself — teeth, bed, backpack — pay no coins at all, only XP. Coins come from family chores, where you're helping everyone else. And the big reward is for jobs you'd otherwise pay someone outside the family to do. Just like grown-up life.
Are coins real money?
No. Coins are your family's own currency. In the app you create the prizes yourself and set their price in coins — "ice cream, 10 coins", "an hour on the computer, 100 coins", a trip together or a movie night. Your kid buys the prize in their own shop, and you mark it as given. And the reward for family chores doesn't have to be money at all — you decide what's worth it in your family.
What if my kid doesn't do the chore?
No yelling, no threats. Do it badly or skip it, and the reward gets smaller. Not fun — but fair, and next time they want to do better. Natural consequences, just like for grown-ups.
Do I need to install anything?
It opens in your phone or tablet browser, and you can add it to your home screen like any app.
Who sees my kids' data?
Only our family and the team building the app. We don't ask for your kids' names, and we'll delete your request completely if you ask.
What we do with your request
Short and straight.
- What we collect: your name, email, where you'd like us to message you and your username or number there, where you live, how many kids you have and how old they are, your pets, what's hardest at home, how you reward your kids and whether they have their own device. We don't ask for your kids' names.
- Why: to choose our first families, to get in touch with you, and to decide what to build first. Nothing else.
- Who sees it: only our family and the team building the app. We never share or sell it.
- How to delete it: write to us and we'll delete your request completely — only a note that it was deleted remains.
